Underwater Video Analysis is one of the most under utilized tools in competitive swimming. At the upper ranks (NCCA, National Teams, etc.) video taping is used extensively. Examples: At USC, Coach Mark Schubert uses a fulltime coach to capture and analyze each swimmer in practice daily so his swimmers practice and imprint correct technique. At many of the National Meets the USA Swimming head video stroke technician Russell Mark video tapes the swimmer during prelims in hopes of find the extra edge before their finals swim! In short – this feedback to the athlete is a huge competitive advantage for the those who use it
